QQ on iPhone
I don't know if you still remember, back in the days when Internet started boombing in the late 1990s, various communicating programs or chatting programs came to life, one of which is ICQ. Later on it supported multi-language so nobody should've felt left out. However, before it started supporting other languages, the Chinese made their own ICQ, called OICQ or QQ. Right now it's the most popular chatting software in China because it's language and features. It combines all the features from MSN Messenger, Yahoo Messenger and the orginal ICQ functions, plus its own unique features. Almost all the internet users in China have their own numbers from QQ. Of course, like any other programs, you can bundle it on your cellphone so you can "talk" to your friends while they are online.
Now, even though iPhone is not officially in China yet, but it has already created its own fan base, the Ai-Feng. Right now, these iPhone lovers can put their QQ on iPhones so they can be with the rest of their friends. It was seemingly impossible to do so, but the "Chinese R&D Center" had found a way even with iPhone's closed system. Ladies and gents, here's LumaQQ.
LumaQQ is the first version of QQ to be added onto iPhone as a third-party software. It basically is the same with the PC version, with friend list, groups, recent contacts, friends search, personal status, etc., and very easy to operate. Currently LumaQQ is still at the testing phase, except for the communication agreement being a bit unstable, the others are about the same as the PC version.
